The Chilli Crab

You saw the killing of the crab in yesterday's post. This is the happily ever after ending. (for the humans of course...)

Chilli Crabs

Oh! So yummy! You can easily prepare this at home. When you visit Singapore, just remember to buy back packets of sauces for chilli crabs. They are really easy to prepare.

Remembered long ago, friends and I prepared chilli crabs in their apartment in Sydney. I was on holiday and brought in boxes of sauces and Sydney has great fresh and big crabs. We did something similar to the photo above. ;-)

Pisang Goreng / Banana Fritters

A local favourite. I have not seen Pisang Tanduk for some time. (That's because I have not been eating these fritters ;-) )

Pisang Tanduk are these huge bananas that you see in the photo below. Twice or three times bigger than the usual bananas. These bananas look ripe now, just nice for frying!

Pisang Goreng

Any pisang goreng (or some call goreng pisang) fans out there?

Dim Sum for Supper?

People in Singapore eat anything at anytime. This photo is taken at Newton Food Centre, a touristy place to have a meal. haha...

This lady boss is preparing porridge for my friend. Hmm eating porridge at 10 PM after the movie Stardust.

Out from the bamboo steamers, we had "Kuchai" (chives) dumplings.

Do you eat the whole day long? Are you one who have supper every night?

Mee Goreng

This is one of a very common food in Singapore and Malaysia. It's called Mee Goreng and it's made of thin yellow noodles and is always a favourite.

It's a bit spicy at times, but if you visit Singapore or Malaysia, you should try it!

Greenies in the greyish stuff.

Many of you from overseas might not seen this. This is a local delicacy. A Teochew food. (Teochew is a clan).

I think its something that needs an acquired taste.

It's called Ku Chai Kueh. "Ku Chai" is garlic chives. Kueh can be tranlasted as Cake, or Tapas in Spanish.

So you can call this it's Asian Chives Tapas. Try it next time you come to Singapore.
