Singapore Flyer... please keep to the 70 km/h speed limit...

I saw this photo in my camera a few days after I took it.
Thought it was funny that the 70 km/h sign beside it.

Flyer70kmh

No, the Singapore Flyer does not rotate at 70 km/h!
It would be fun if it does right?

Red Ring...

The Singapore Flyer as seen from the waters beside Gardens by the Bay.

Singapore Flyer from Gardens by the Bay

It has been raining in the afternoon and having night stroll at the Gardens by the Bay is quite cooling.

There have been quite a few dining places that has opened and it's a nice place to dine and then have a nice stroll after...

Flyer, Supertrees and the Flower Dome

Too bad it was a gloomy day, it was raining and I was out.

We were crossing the DragonFly Bridge that links Gardens by the Bay to Marina Bay Sands and saw this. The Singapore Flyer, 3 of the many Supertrees and the Flower Dome.

Flyer, Supertrees, Flower Dome

Probably the most interesting place that I saw over the weekend was the Flower Dome.
My brother told me that the Flower Dome and the one next to it have the world's longest span single length braces.

I think there should be some National Geographic or Discovery Channel show about how it was built probably? Can't wait to watch it if there is one.

Singapore Flyer

Singapore Flyer earlier this evening at around 7:15 pm.

Singapore Flyer

It's peak hour and you can see wheels of the cars dashing by.
But the biggest wheel in Singapore turns as slowly as usual. 30 minutes for a complete round. ;-)

Instagram Photo: Yusheng

Tossing food in the air!

It's the Lunar New Year soon and it's when Yusheng (鱼生) is back in the menu for many Chinese restaurants.

yusheng

I had the opportunity to toss yusheng at 165 metres in the air on the Singapore Flyer!
(Read more about that in my Food Blog a few days later!)

Singapore GP Recycle Challenge

I am sure you will be able to get the more professional photos of all the F1 cars. I will leave those to the professionals.  I am posting something similar, they can't move as fast. In fact, they can't move at all!

It's the Singapore GP Recycle Challenge 2010!
This can be seen at the Singapore Flyer.

I am showing 2 of the cars here.

October Theme Day - Lines (of the Singapore Flyer)

It's the first day of October. Which also means it is Theme Day for the Daily Photo Blogger folks.

The theme for October is Lines.
Here's lines from the Singapore Flyer.

Oh, just before you board it, the 'lines' or barcodes from your ticket has to be scanned first.

Happy Theme Day.

You can also visit these cities who are participating in the Theme Day. Due to time differences, some post might not appear as yet.

The Singapore Flyer - In Red....

Last one... I shall not post anything about Singapore Flyer in the near future. Flyer Overdose!

Red. It looks angry...

The Singapore Flyer - In Green....

I was wondering should I post another colour of it? Hope you all are not bored with it yet. LOL...

Blue seems to be the favourite. What about green?

The Singapore Flyer - In Blue....

I flew back to Singapore a moment ago on a Jetstar Flight. It was tiring.

As I was not around in Singapore for more than a week, these are some photos taken few weeks ago. Using it as filler before I go out and take photos again.

The Singapore Flyer glowing in blue hues.

blue.. the colour of the singapore flyer...

The Singapore Flyer's officially opening is today. Yes, it has been open to the public since March 1, but there's always the "official opening" thingy.

I read in the newspaper today that it is also the world's largest observation wheel.

Here's a very different view of the wheel. The blue hues of the wheel looks like a fire wheel from a far.

Click here to view the photos I have taken of the wheel since it was just a skeleton here.

Distorted Flyer?

Saw this the other day. A reflection of the Singapore Flyer and it looks distorted. haha...

Have a good weekend!

When in Singapore, take the Singapore Flyer.

The Singapore Flyer officially opens today!

The sky's gloomy though.. But not the people who got the chance to be one of the first to go up for the public opening.

The Singapore Flyer had this special ride opened earlier for lovers on Valentine's Day. Guess what? A friend of ours proposed to his girlfriend on the Flyer. He told us that the wife to be said, he said it too soft! He was a bit shy to say it with so many other couples in it. :-) Anyway, she accepted it.

Singapore Flyer Photo Update....

Today on the way to lunch in colleague's car, I snap this photo.

Wonder why one capsule is wrapped up in black. Hmmm....

The capsules for the flyer is slowly filling up the big wheel.

From the photo, you can see that it's a wet wet day with dull grey skies here in Singapore. How's the weather where you are?
