Hazy....

The haze this 'season' only lasted 2 days!
Hallelujah!

hazy oh hazy....

Let's hope the wind directions are in our favour and thank God for the rain.
It has cleared up air quite a bit.

The hazy view of Bukit Timah

Suddenly yesterday evening, the haze 'attacked' Singapore.

This was view of Bukit Timah (Hill) last night.
Slightly 'hazy' view of the hill because of the haze.

hazy night...

It's good that by Saturday morning (this morning), it's not so hazy anymore...

The haze visits Singapore again....

**cough cough cough**

The haze is back! Thanks to the change of winds, the burning smoke from the Sumatra, Indonesia like migratory birds are paying Singapore and Malaysia an annual visit!

the haze is back!

This is the view of the 'national bird' of Singapore, the Port of Singapore Authority (PSA) cranes. It's now partially covered by the haze.

The 3 hour PSI reading hit 80 at 3 pm earlier today. You can find out the hourly PSI update from the NEA's website here.

Hazy Days..

I woke up this morning and saw this hazy scene on the way to work.

hazy day

After work, it was still very hazy.
If you take a look at the National Environment Agency's website, it shows the PSI is moderate today. I thought it should be bad instead of moderate!

My eyes are a little teary and itchy. Are you all feeling it too?
It can't be the 'Eyjafjallajokull's ash' all the way from Iceland right?

Hazy Days back in Singapore

Taken at 7:28 AM this morning. A view of Bukit Timah.
The haze seems to be back since last week. It has been very bad these few days.

The Hazy days are back in Singapore

A local news websites quotes National Environment Agency (NEA) saying the cause of it is light wind conditions and also bush fire burning in Singapore.

But many people doubt so. Quoting my colleague:"Where can we find enough bushes in Singapore to burn that can cause this?"

Haze is back..

Today is Sunday and this was taken on Sunday afternoon in Singapore. It seems that the haze is back in Singapore and it's earlier than usual.

This is taken at 5PM plus. When usually it is much brighter and clear.

Farmers at neighbouring Indonesian island of Sumatra are at it again. Sigh...
I have taken out my Sharp Plasmacluster Air Filter from storage and using it. haha...

The wind blew the haze away... so its time for Claypot rice

Overnight, the wind must have blown all the haze away. Right now the PSI is 34.

From the picture just taken a while ago, at least the telecommunications tower on Bukit Timah Hill can be seen.

Bukit Timah Hill is the tallest point in Singapore, but it's not very high. Most high rise buildings in Singapore are much taller than the tallest hill. haha...

Lunch I just had. Claypot rice. Had to wait like half an hour for it. When the claypot arrive and the top taken off, the steam just comes out! Then you pour black sauce over it and stir...

More pictures of the claypot rice at my Singapura Food Blog. :-)

What a hazy day.

It's very hazy. The air quality according to the National Environment Agency says it is "Unhealthy". People are advised to stay indoors, and that's what I did.

This picture is taken this morning. When the PSI was around 130.

It did turn better during the day, but now it is worse. The PSI is now 150.
Anyone interested can monitor it via the NEA website at: http://app.nea.gov.sg/psi/

Looks like my electricity bill will be super high. The air conditioning and fileter has been running non stop since yesterday.
