Changi Point Coastal Walk

Bored in Singapore, let's do a walk. A very long walk to burn off those calories if you ahem have extra weight, or build those muscles if you are skinny.

Changi Point Coastal Walk

This walk is kind of easy, because it has a boardwalk. It also tells you how far you got to walk. See the signs below.

Changi Point Coastal Walk

Just take a photo and this and then you can guesstimate how far your walk will be, and if you are going to turn back, it's not beyond the points of no return. You know, if you walk more than half, it's not wise to turn back. LOL

Changi Point Coastal Walk

Have a great week ahead!
It's not really that boring in Singapore.

Holiday!

The wife and I love to travel. Our port of departure is Changi Airport. (SIN).
I always wondered if we can go up the control tower.

Changi Airport Control Tower

We were off for a short holiday 1 hour up north and we were so glad we made it in time.
The previous holiday, we missed our flight, because we were late! Has that happened to you?

Took this photo inside the taxi on the way to the airport using the iPhone 4S.

Lego Mural at Changi Airport

Are you a fan of Lego?
I am! When I was a kid, grandma bought us lots of Lego, we were spoil then.

There's a mural made from thousands of Lego at Changi Airport!
It seems it has been there for some time, but I never noticed it.

Airport from the runway...

Changi Airport as viewed from inside a plane from the runway.
Can you guess the plane I am on by the colour of the tip of the wing?

Changi Airport

I realise that in many airports that I have landed, the aerobridges are always plastered with adverts from HSBC. Is that the case with the airport in your city?

What's the thing that you do when the plane lands?
Do you turn on your mobile phone to search for signals?  ;-P

Changi Airport Air Traffic Control Tower

The Changi Airport (IATA: SIN, ICAO: WSSS) Air Traffic Control Tower viewed between the Crowne Plaza Airport Hotel and Terminal 3 building.

Changi Airport

It's such an icon isn't it?
That when you draw that control tower on "Draw Something", people immediately know you are drawing the word "Airport"!

Don't you also love the details on the next building?

The Changi Depot

The bird's eye view of the MRT Changi Depot, while we were circling around Changi Airport.

Info from Wikipedia, this depot comprises a train yard, which can hold a capacity of 35 trains and has an area of 250,000 square metres.

Free movies, all day, all night...

Guess where you can get free movie screenings all day and all night?

I just discovered that you can if you are flying out of Changi Airport Terminal 3!
(Terminal 2 also has a movie theatre that is showing Star Movies)

Some might say it's not technically free, because it's included in the Airport Tax of SGD21.

Free movies, all day, all night at Changi Airport Terminal 3

Something I discovered too was that there's a clock like the one you see on the photo above inside the theatre. It's to remind you of your flight time! LOL

Free movies, all day, all night at Changi Airport Terminal 3

It's not very big inside, but looks comfy enough.
Lots and lots of leg room because you can bring in your luggage with you!

Curious to know what's being shown? This link will 'show' you.

Are you a movie addict? I think I only watch movies on airplanes!
This year I think I have only been to the real theatre once or two times only.

Changi Airport Control Tower

A trip to the airport, we will always never miss the airport control tower that stands tall on the eastern part of Singapore island.

Some fast facts about the Changi Airport

On a side note...
Here's a hearty congratulations to Keropokman's sister on her marriage! And wishing them a blessed life together :)

Checking in TV for their flights...

This is what I saw at the airport. Loads of flat screen TVs. What are they doing here at the check in counter?

We heard that these are all bound for India. Indian tourists cart loads of flat screen TVs from Singapore back to India. They are considered very very cheap in Singapore compared to India.

Checking in....

A few days has past. I am now in Darwin, but it's still a Singapore photo I am posting. The check in counter at Terminal 1.

Did you guess that I was on this flight? ;-)

Crown Plaza Changi Airport

This is the new US$60 million (S$84 million) hotel that is opening in Changi Airport's Terminal 3.

Heard that it offers in-house guests an iPod loaded with a variety of music designed to soothe travellers that have just landed. The iPod can be slotted into the iPod docking station in every guest room.

Sounds cool huh...

Long queue at the Swensen's at the airport.

Was at the airport to help a friend book last minute flight tickets. The ticket is for a flight in less than 12 hours, so internet booking is closed. Telephone reservations seems to be forever on hold. (yes it's the company that has the first A330 company) So had to made a trip all the way to the airport, as that's where airline ticket offices are still open.

Happen to see this when I was there. It was nearly 10 PM and there seems to be a hungry crowd! There's so many people queuing to go into Swensen's. I wonder why.... No, I did not bother to find out, going home to sleep was what was on my mind.

Do you feel hungry when you get down the plane? I always do! LOL.

Talking about airports, it seemed that the there has been lots of luggage problems at Heathrow's T5. Maybe if they had a more comprehensive test like what they did in Singapore, they would have not incurred the wrath of so many passengers.
