Locks of Love

It's a copycat from Paris' Love Locks.

When you are in love, you will do anything to please the other half. So if they want you to show your proof of love, you do it.

Locks of Love, Singapore - Clarke Quay

If you are bored in Singapore, you can go put a lock at the fence too that's along the Singapore River.

Locks of Love, Singapore - Clarke Quay

It's currently looking quite sparse (i.e. pathetic), with not that many locks yet.

Locks of Love, Singapore - Clarke Quay

I am not sure if more people will buy the locks (there's a lock vending machine there too) and lock them there. Maybe if they do, it might look better.

I won't do it, coz I'm not bored enough.

Along the Singapore River..

More views along the Singapore River.

"Three layers" that you can see here.
Layer 1 - Al fresco dining along the river bank.
Layer 2 - Shop houses from the early days, still preserved.
Layer 3 - Modern skyscrapers behind, soaring to the sky.

Bridges over Singapore River - Elgin Bridge, 1929

There are many bridge over the Singapore River. Let me start a series about it.

This is Elgin Bridge built in 1929. In Hokkien it is known as "thih tiau-kio", and in Cantonese, "thit tiu-khiu", both mean iron suspension bridge.

The existing bridge was completed in 1929, and was named after a Governor-General of India, Lord Elgin (1862–1863). As this was the first bridge to be built across the river, the two roads leading to it were named North Bridge Road and South Bridge Road accordingly.

It was previously a wooden bridge.

Things tourist do in Singapore

Last few day's photos are places where tourist to Singapore will take photos of.

This is another activity that many tourist will do. Get on a boat ride along the Singapore River.

Actually, I have not been on a boat ride in Singapore! I have done it in other cities though. haha... Rowed a kayak along the starting of Yarra River in Melbourne, taken the river cruise along Seine River in Paris, the cruise along Chao Praya in Bangkok, etc..

Do you take river cruises in the cities that you visit? (of course, those cities that have rivers running through them)

No, it's not Paris, it's Singapore.

You might think that it's Seine River in Paris, where if you take a river cruise, you go below so many bridges.

This is actually Singapore River. This is the Coleman Bridge, just near the MICA Building with super colourful windows.
