a school gets old and it got turned into a museum

This is the Singapore Art Museum. A wonderful place to visit and admire modern and contemporary art from South East Asia.

This building as you can see from the photo, was a school. It was the old premises for St Joseph's Institution. As this is a mission school, they also have a very pretty and cosy chapel. One of my colleague got married here! It was fabulous.

The arches and details on this building are lovely. It makes a nice home for the museum!

I remember visiting it in the late 70s or early 80s.

There is a huge Episcopalian/Anglican Church across the street, right?

Now this is a lovely building! I often visited on my way home to the UK from Malaysia. I would take an early morning flight from KL to Singapore so that I could spend the day in Singapore and this would be one of my first stops. In some of the rooms there are also wonderful patterned tiles. Somewhere I should have some photos of the tiles as my wife was so taken with them that she made me photograph them!
