Singapoore Zoo - 1

Have you been to the Singapore Zoo? Its one of the "must-go" places when you visit Singapore. Its surrounded by the tranquil waters of the Seletar Reservoir and have a rather dense forest.

One of the interesting birds that the Singapore Zoo has is the flamingo. I caught a couple of flamingos on my trip there recently. Isnt this pair lovey-dovey?

More information here on the flamingos

I think it was the Romans who starting bringing animals from all over the world to Rome to be killed in front of the citizens or to be set loose on Christians.

After I read their plight in ancient history I don't like zoos anymore. I think some zoos do a good job of caring for wildlife but if the wildlife were left alone to live in their own environment then that would be even better.

But that aside, I like your photographs of the animals in the zoo. Thanks for posting it.

It reminded me of a zoo for animals in the movie Planet of the Apes.
