Huh? Have you heard or seen the IceBow phenomenon on Thursday?

On Thursday afternoon, was having lunch and colleague said, LOOK UP!
Wow, what's that? Quick quick, take photo, take photo.

Wondering what this is? I think many people in Singapore saw it. Many blogged about it too. Here's my 2 pictures too.

The sun was just too bright, I was just pointing my camera up and just snapping blindly.

Was taken between the new Arts Canteen and the School of Computing building.

This is called an Icebow. They are similar to rainbows but they are formed by diffraction through ice crystals instead of raindrops. You can do an online search for more if you wish to know more.

I never heard of it before, now I know. But in Singapore... sounds impossible.

Btw, I thought that shooting directly to the sun is not good to camera CCD, real?
