Hokkien Puppet Show in Chinatown

One of the interesting thing I saw at Chinatown was this puppet show. It was all in Hokkien (a mandarin dialect). The pupputeers sure were enjoying themselves, it could be heard thru their voices.

Come down to the Chinatown Heritage Centre if you wanna listen to it.

If you want to find out more about it, read this.

I find such puppet shows quite spooking...dunno why. Maybe just me dunno how to appreciate.

Must be tricky handling all those strings; they must practice a lot!

Great puppets though. Very colourful. I agree with Zannie, it's great to have cultural events like this. It's what makes a place unique.

Hokkien is not a Mandarin dialect neh! That's like saying English is a Spanish dialect.

Speak Hokkien? Come check out the Hokkien postings at my blogspot sometime. (Taiwanese-style Hokkien, though.)
