long queues have started at Lim Chee Guan....

Goodness gracious! This was taken a few nites ago at Singapore's Chinatown. Snaking long queues of people lining up to buy slices of BBQ Pork Slices called 'Bak Kwa'. It is also called the asian chewing gum! Something like beef jerkeys, but 100 times better.

It's one of the gifts that you buy for friends and relatives during the Lunar New Year.

Bloomberg had a Bak Kwa index last year, wonder if they will be having it this year.

In our office, we usually get free packs of it from our software and hardware vendors. Wonder if they have made their orders? haha.. IBM, Sun, Dell, do you hear us? haha...

What is the thing that people are queuing for in your city? Can't wait to get their hands on it?
Maybe the new Macbook Air? haha....

I live in a small town with not enough Asians to make a big splash for our Lunar New Year! :(

Right now, people are really queueing up for anything but they are preparing for the youth livestock and baked goods show. It is a contest with ribbons and scholarship moneys for winners. I will try to photograph and blog about it in the coming days.

This is my favourite Bak Kwa store!
Wow! The queue is really building up, but I would expect that for this time of the year!

Thanks for the information!

Here there are sales but the shops are really empty. Maybe because the weather is so bad.

Hi Keropok.. if the queue has started down south, I think it will be the same over here.. I should go check out the bak kwa shops as well.

I like to queue up to buy bak kwa.. it's one of the CNY must-do :)
