Victoria Concert Hall - Introducing the Pipe Organ Man

Last Friday night I was at the Victoria Concert Hall for a piano performance.

Victoria Concert Hall is the great old dame of Concert Halls in Singapore. It was the place before the magnificent Esplanade Theatres On the Bay was built.

Here's a pipe organ sculpture at the venue. How interesting. The Pipe Organ Man!

What a unique way to use old pipes, wonder if they could make a real organ in the same fashion?

Irredento: Only a kind person can see a kind giant :-)

Kaa: Recycling? haha...

Olivier: However, this one would not produce any magnificent sound anymore...

Curly: I think they could. But who would want to install them at their concert halls? :)

How fascinating. The person who installed the pipes must have had a great sense of humor, or just sick and tired of the more traditional ways of putting together the pipes, or maybe he really wanted to be a sculptor but he had to follow in his Dad's footsteps. I just love it. Does it sound great, too?
