As children we saw Tchaikovsky's "The Nutcracker" ballet almost every Christmas (a family tradition).
As an adult, however, the last time I went to a ballet was in Paris, in 2004!
How elegant. It is a difficult shot isn't when they were dancing.

My daughters were ballerinas and the point dancing was very painful when they first started. The sole of the dance shoe is reinforced with wood or some other stiff material to help out a bit but it is quite the task to make this look elegant and effortless.

I have never seen The Nutcracker ballet before even though they have the show every year in the city.
I guess I don't want to pay $100 to see a bunch of people running around on the stage. :-)
