Nativity Scene

I guess most churches would have a nativity scene at some corner of the church. This one was spotted in a church i visited today. Visited because, its not the usual one that i am a member off :)

Left side of the scene showing the shepherds, who were there to see baby Jesus.

Right side showing the 3 kings who brought gifts.

Has this scene any significance for you? Is it just a scene, from any story? Or does this story live in your heart today?

It is a story told again and again. Even for those who are not Christian, every new born child brings with him or her the hope of a better future.

In Portugal, you can find 'Presepios' (Nativity scenes) in churches, but they are more common in homes and public spaces: I am posting some in my blog Sesimbra.

I like the traditional themes, rather than some of the modern day "stories" that schools recite to our children.

Another great set of pictures this week, enjoy your Christmas holiday,

Ah, the most important question! In the heart for sure, and based on the response to the Angel tree program our church did, I suspect I am not alone in this regard in the humble town of Delta! I hope you had a great Christmas!

Ah, good question! This scene lives in my heart, and I never tire of hearing it or reading it. Have you ever read the Christmas story in the Book of Revelation? Our minister preached on it the Sunday before Christmas...a look at God's view of the coming of Christ. It was different for sure!
